CASE STUDIES:
Prospective Senior Partner needing to adjust behaviour towards peers & clients, to allow further promotion
We were asked to coach a Partner hired into a consulting firm, as his interaction within the firm did not always fit its culture. An extremely articulate, charismatic, business savvy, accomplished yet sometimes overly direct man, whose previous successful career had encouraged some fairly aggressive business practice. Also, his very active and quick brain sometimes took precedent over his otherwise impeccable manners with other members of the firm, as well as with clients. We first worked with him to help his transitioning into this new, less aggressive environment, by raising his awareness of his broader Stakeholders and their needs; raising his understanding of the impact of his way of communicating, which was not serving him to get the best of people, and in turn achieve the best outcome; and finally we helped him develop alternative leadership styles and yet feel authentic with them, allowing him to modulate and moderate the power of his interactions for increased impact.
C-Suite Woman Executive dealing with expansion of her role, as well as internal tensions with peer which were hindering her success
We were asked by a prestigious investment bank to coach a C-Suite woman executive whose role had expanded - adding geographical & cultural complexity to her original role - while she was also facing internal relationship tensions which were affecting her. She was encouraged to work on defining her broader stakeholders, and develop strategies to induce smoother communication with them. We embolded her to re-write her new role, embrace & seek a new support system & explore the acquisition of broader leadership skills. This particularly bright, successful & efficient professional was also still holding in some lack of confidence issues. These led her to both some rather impatient behaviours, as well as some demonstrations of stress. We worked with her on developing greater resilience, as well as accepting less immediate or seemingly less efficient solutions from the people who worked with her; then structuring her new work-flow - encouraging both more delegation of tasks & more focus on fewer projects.
CEC also offers team or group coaching, in the form of tailor-made programmes designed to address the specific issues being faced while, using a systemic approach, also unearthing & exploring other hidden pitfalls
These programmes - sometimes supported by selected psychometrics & diagnostics tools - help our clients make accelerated progress, for example but not limited to:
